Discover Belgium’s icon!
The Atomium was designed and built for the 1958 Brussels World’s Fair and quickly grew into the symbol of the country. What was originally intended as a temporary pavilion became a permanent icon thanks to its spectacular silhouette. Two years of renovation work led to the reopening of the monument in February 2006. In 2026, we celebrate the 20th anniversary of this renewed Atomium.
Today, the Atomium shines more than ever, both inside and out. More than half of the tour is dedicated to installations with themes revolving around the digital arts. Visit our website to discover the current installations.
Permanently available:
- the most beautiful panorama (360°) of Brussels and its surroundings (92m)
- a panoramic restaurant with a 100% Belgian menu (95m)
- a permanent exhibition retracing more than 65 years of the history of the former Expo 58 pavilion
- CENTRALE, a digital experience, immersing you in sound & light
- Look Up – a monumental artwork that transforms the interior of the elevator.
- the Atomium ticket automatically includes the entrance to the Design Museum Brussels, 150 m away
- shops offering a wide range of unique souvenirs.
