Unique in Belgium, discover an authentic coalmine at 30 and 60 meters underground !

Situated at the est of Belgium (20 km from Liège), Blegny-Mine is one of the four authentic coal mines in Europe with underground galleries accessible for the visitors through the original shaft.

Put your jacket on, adjust your helmet and reach the galleries of the mine with the mining cage at -30 and -60 meters bellow the ground to discover the fabulous world of the «black-rock». Discover also the wash and sorting installations, from the arrival until transport and sale of the coal.

Combine in one day the visit of the coalmine (1,45 h) with :
- the mining-museum : travel through the permanent exhibition (free visit, guided tour possible)
- discover with an audio guide the slag heap biotope and the circuit of the trees presenting life on, and around the slag heap (free visit of with audioguide)
On season, take a ride with our road-train through the old town of Dalhem and the orchards of the «Land of Herve» countryside.

Blegny-Mine : one of the 4 major mining sites in Wallonia recognized by Unesco as a world heritage site.

1. The "Blegny-Mine" programme (mine guided tour + mining-museum + slag heap biotope): - weekends and pub. holidays from 14/02 to 15/11 - every day from 27/04 to 7/09. - Additional weekday opening from 16/02 to 27/02 (Carnival holidays), from 6/04 to 17/04 (Easter holidays) and from 19/10 to 6/11 (All Saints' holidays). • Visit of the coalmine only: - weekends from 21/11 to 28/12 - during the Christmas holidays from 21/12 to 30/12 (closed on 24 and 25/12). 2. Superprogramme: "Blegny-Mine" programme + tourist train ride. Arrival recommended before 11.00 and no later than midday : - weekends and public holidays from 4/04 to 15/11 - every day from 27/04 to 8/05 and from 1/07 to 31/08 (Summer holidays) - every Wednesday from 13/05 to 4/09.
