MUMASK, Mask and Carnival Museum, invites you to discover the captivating world of festivals, folklore and rituals via hundreds of masks, costumes and accessories on display. Our unique collection also gives you the opportunity to delve into the magic of the Carnival of Binche as if you were there.
In June 2025, MUMASK celebrates its 50th birthday ! On this very special occasion, our ethnological section will be entirely refurbished from 1 November to 14 June 2025. But don’t panic ! Our sections on carnivals will stay open during this period.
Discover the museum’s temporary exhibitions surprising both by the choice of their themes and their scenography.

Tuesday to Friday: 9.30 to 17.00. Saturday and Sunday: 10.30 to 17.00 • Closed on Mondays, 18/02, 1/05, 25, 26 and 31/12 and 1/01.

Het MUMASK vernieuwt zijn afdeling gewijd aan maskers uit de hele wereld ter gelegenheid van het 50-jarig bestaan van het museum.
Maskers uit de hele wereld: een gemoderniseerde, meeslepende ervaring
Na 10 jaar krijgt de afdeling Maskers uit de vijf windstreken van het MUMASK een make-over.
Gedurende 8 maanden hebben ingrijpende renovatiewerkzaamheden de ruimte getransformeerd tot een geheel nieuwe scenografie, die resoluut interactief is. Talrijke maskers, kostuums en accessoires zijn uit de reserves gehaald om de tentoonstelling te verrijken met een thematische (in plaats van geografische) benadering.
Een tiental meeslepende en didactische installaties bieden een unieke kijk op de maskeradities van over de hele wereld.
Ter gelegenheid van het 50-jarig bestaan van het museum heropende deze permanente afdeling, die nu Regards sur les collections (Een blik op de collecties) heet.
Een openingsfeest voor het hele gezin in de carnavalsstad.
