Information

The Raeren Pottery Museum is housed in a former castle dating back to the 14th century.

Since it opened in 1963, it has been the only museum in the world to offer a complete overview of the development of Raeren stoneware. Visitors are plunged into the lives of the Raeren potters, learning all about their craft, their vessels and the large-scale export of their wares.

With over 2,000 exhibits, information panels, displays and multimedia elements, the Pottery Museum offers a wealth of opportunities for discovery.

In addition to its historical focus, the Pottery Museum is also devoted to contemporary ceramics. Every year, on the second weekend in September, it organises the Euregional Ceramics Market, with around 80 participants from various European countries.
